Eliza grew up in Pacheco, Calif., and discovered a passion for environmental justice while living in Berkeley. They were an Environmental Justice Fellow at the Center for Environmental Health, where they advocated for the regulation of PFAS in consumer goods. They hold a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, with a major in Conservation and Resource Studies and a focus on environmental justice, health and policy. Eliza is a houseplant parent with an ever-growing plant family. In their spare time, they are a “maker” who crafts, restores vintage furniture and creates upcycled art. They’re training for their first long-distance cycling adventure.
